In this adventure Marco Topo and his friends invite you to discover Cuevas del Almanzora as a family, a beautiful town in Almería with an impressive cultural and historical legacy. The game begins at the Castle, a large defensive fortress commissioned by the first Marquis of Los Vélez in the 16th century. Here you will explore the keep, the Marquis's Palace and the Tercia building. During your visit to the Castle you will discover the Museum Collection of Fishing in Antiquity, displaying archaeological remains from the important sites of Baria, from the Phoenician-Roman period, and Fuente Álamo, from the Bronze Age. You will also discover the contemporary art collection of Antonio Manuel Campoy, a renowned art critic from Cuevas del Almanzora. The adventure takes you to an educational museum about cave houses, one of the municipality's defining features. These caves have been used as homes since prehistoric times and are the origin of the name Cuevas del Almanzora. After passing through Plaza de la Constitución, you will discover the town's religious heritage at the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación. Next you will see a museum recreating schools in the 1950s, with a classroom containing desks and school materials from the period. Marco Topo, dressed as a miner, will introduce you to the mineral wealth of Sierra Almagrera and the importance of mining in this area since ancient times. The landscape still preserves traces of the region's prosperous mining past, such as smelting works, loading facilities and chimneys. One important game location is the Phoenician Necropolis of Villaricos, where nearly 2,000 burials have been excavated, including hypogea of great scientific value. The adventure concludes with visits to the water-sports canal at the Cuevas del Almanzora reservoir, the Calguerín caves and the Villaricos seafront promenade.
