The Marco Topo adventure in León begins at its magnificent Cathedral, a church known as the Pulchra Leonina for having one of the purest Gothic styles in Spain. The colours and light of its stained-glass windows are fascinating! Centurion Marco Topo will introduce you to the city's Roman origins at the Roman León Interpretation Centre. You will also see the Roman wall and other important remains from that period. Casa Botines, designed by the brilliant architect Antoni Gaudí, is a must-see stop in the game. This Modernist palace is one of only three buildings, together with the Episcopal Palace of Astorga and El Capricho in Comillas, that Gaudí designed outside Catalonia. Marta Topo's clues will take you to the Royal Collegiate Church of San Isidoro in León, whose Royal Pantheon contains the tombs of many kings and queens of the Kingdom of León. You will also see some of the finest Romanesque frescoes in Spain. León's cuisine is an essential part of the adventure, which enters the Barrio Húmedo to introduce you to its traditional tapas and drinks such as lemonade.
