In the Caravaca de la Cruz adventure, Marco Topo is dressed as one of the many pilgrims who walk the Camino de la Cruz each year and guides the whole family through the city’s historic centre. The game route introduces the story of the Cross of Caravaca, from its miraculous appearance to its recognition by the Church as the True Cross. The famous cross contains a reliquary with fragments traditionally believed to come from the cross on which Jesus Christ died, which explains why people from all over the world come to see it. Caravaca de la Cruz has been a Holy City with a permanent Jubilee privilege since 1998. Every seven years it therefore celebrates a Holy or Jubilee Year with special religious events. Only a small number of places in the world have this privilege, which can only be granted by the Pope. The game also introduces distinctive aspects of the patron-saint festivities held in May, especially the Moors and Christians parades and the Wine Horses. Their spectacular hand-made gold and silk embroidery is sure to catch your attention.
