This interactive game invites families to discover the municipality through routes filled with challenges, interesting facts and learning, exploring both heritage and nature while having fun. The urban route runs through Vera’s historic heart from Plaza Mayor, the town’s main centre since the 16th century, to Cerro del Espíritu Santo, where the former Muslim settlement of Bayra stood. Along the way you visit monuments such as the fortified Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, the historic Town Hall and the bullring, the oldest in Almería province. There are also opportunities to discover the pottery tradition, enjoy the Glorieta gardens and take in spectacular views from the hill, all while answering questions about architecture, historical figures and local customs. The coastal route explores Vera’s natural shoreline. It begins beside the chimney of the former Fundición Española, a reminder of intense 19th-century mining activity. The route includes beaches such as Las Marinas-Bolaga, Puerto Rey and El Playazo, together with environmentally important wetlands such as Puerto Rey Lagoon, Charca del Gato and the striking Salar de los Canos. Here players discover protected species such as the white-headed duck and learn about Posidonia seagrass, migratory birds and the importance of coastal ecosystems.
